Aesthetics Marketing – Who Should You Follow On Instagram?

In this blog, she has shared her Instagram marketing journey and gives her advice on who to follow.

Below is the evolution of who I chose to follow on Insta over 4 years.
1) The rookie stage:
I followed anyone who followed me out of politeness…I’m looking at you, Mark the solider from Idaho ?
2) The resentful stage:
By using an app that is no longer allowed, I was able to see who unfollowed me as soon as I followed them back. Fuckers, I thought!
So, I got a bit more targeted in my follow backs and only did it if they were the kind of people I was actually likely to sell to eventually.
3) The proactive stage:
I started proactively looking for people who might be ‘my people’ and followed them. I searched hashtags, and other people’s follow lists.
4) The ratio stage:
Recently I’ve been getting lots more followers per day, so I’ve stopped automatically following people back who are my target audience.
My reason?
Now that I can, I’d like to get my ratio of followers-to-people-I-follow to about 2:1. In other words, I currently follower 3275, so I’d like to get to about 5400 followers and keep it at that ratio.
It just feels energetically right to me. I personally don’t want to be following the same number who follow me, because it feels like I only got them because I follow them instead of earning them.

So, what should your strategy be?
However you decide to approach follows, make sure you stick with this one GOLDEN RULE. Listen up now because this is very important:
Only follow the kind of people who might buy from you at some stage.
For example:
- They’re local to you
- And they look like your typical patient gender-wise, age-wise etc
- There’s something in their profile that looks like they might enjoy looking after their appearance, e.g. they go to the gym
Remember, we have to train the algorithm like a dog. When it sees that these kind of people are important to you, and you’re trying to add value to them with your posts, it will put you in front of more of them ??
